Sole Sister: Natasha Oakley Collaborates with Billini on a Jet-Setter’s Capsule Collection of Heels
Globetrotting fashionista and Monday Swimwear co-founder Natasha Oakley is putting her stamp on our soles. The Australian entrepreneur has partnered with footwear label Billini on an exquisite edit of heels inspired by her favorite faraway locales.
“I’m so excited to be collaborating with Billini on this gorgeous collection of shoes,” said Oakley. “I’ve always had a passion for travel and fashion, so designing heels based on some of my favorite destinations around the world has been a dream project.”
The limited-edition capsule drops today and encompasses eight styles ranging from slinky mules to ’90s-chic platforms. Each pair is fit for modern-day Holly Golightlys, named after storied streets and quarters across Europe’s most glamorous cities.
“I wanted to capture the essence of jet-setting in this collection. The shoes mirror my memories of strolling the cobbled lanes of Bordeaux, the sophistication of Paris, and the la dolce vita lifestyle of Capri, where I was married,” explained Oakley.
Standouts include ‘The Milan,’ a curve-skimming barely-there sandal dripping in diamanté straps, and ‘The Florence’ – Oakley’s personal favorite – a minimal thong heel destined to complement feminine frocks. ‘The Saint Germain’ is a sharp pointed slingback pump that oozes Parisian polish.
Elsewhere, ‘The Soho’ channels downtown NYC cool through a stacked wood heel, and ‘The Verona’ features a lace-up silhouette fit for an Italian getaway. Each style has been executed in Oakley’s choice neutral and pop shades, from pristine ivories to rich cognacs and inky blue denims. Pops of metallics and diamanté bring high-octane glitz.
While Oakley is best known for her internationally-adored swim label Monday Swimwear (and its recent expansion into activewear Monday Body), designing shoes has long been a dream for the fashion mogul and influencer.
“I’ve always been obsessed with shoes, especially heels and flats that can take you from day to night on vacation,” Oakley told BAZAAR.com.
“I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair wherever I travel. I would constantly sketch and visualize my ultimate capsule collection – chic, timeless silhouettes inspired by my trips that every jet-setting girl needs in her suitcase.”
Oakley’s globetrotting vision aligns seamlessly with Australian label Billini and its ethos of creating shoes at the intersection of fashion and comfort.
“Natasha Oakley’s jet-setting spirit was hugely inspiring for this collaboration,” said Billini designer Aylin Carney. “We wanted to bottle up her essence of effortless, luxurious style.”
The eight-piece collection is expected to sell out swiftly given Oakley’s star power and the need for elevated vacation footwear this season. So whether you’re escaping to Capri or St. Tropez, get ready to step out in serious sole style.
