Zendaya Soars in So Kate Pumps at Schiaparelli’s Surrealist Show
Leave it to Zendaya to bring her A-game to the front row. The actress attended Schiaparelli’s thought-provoking spring 2024 show on Monday as part of Paris Fashion Week, wearing a pair of sky-high Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps that lengthened her frame and nodded to the surrealism seen on the runway. Black fishnet Calzedonia knee-high stockings and matching pointed-toe Christian Louboutin heels peeked out through the skirt’s back leg slit.
Zendaya’s ensemble, entirely from Schiaparelli’s new collection, included a high-neck black top with exaggerated shoulders and a satin column skirt with a rippling train that trailed behind her as she walked. She finished the artistic look with sheer black tights and a severe, blunt bang wig reminiscent of the radical silhouettes in the collection. But it was her Louboutin stilettos that truly captivated.. The look was accessorized with a pair of black pointed pumps and sheer black tights .Zendaya wore the floor-length dress with an oversized double-zipper detail down the front to sit front row at Nicolas Ghesquière’s presentation for the iconic fashion house.
The iconic So Kate pump, with its daring 5-inch heel and gracefully arched profile, has become a staple for those who dare to reach great heights, both literally and figuratively. Zendaya’s jet-black patent leather pair elongated her legs, while the pointed toe created a slimming effect. Though seemingly vertiginous, the So Kate’s pitched silhouette actually provides an architectural support to hold the foot in place. Zendaya walked the red carpet with ease, proving that with confidence and practice, extreme heels can become an empowering extension of oneself.
Zendaya was joined by an eclectic array of celebrities enthralled with Creative Director Daniel Roseberry’s vision for the avant-garde Italian house. Jennifer Lopez cut a striking figure in an oversized white coat and black velvet stilettos, while Euphoria star Hunter Schafer sported a black strapless gown and Trompe l’oeil heels that played with proportion and perspective. Other celebs in attendance included Zendaya’s Euphoria co-star Hunter Schafer, Jennifer Lopez (who looked striking in a hair switch-up of her own), Karli Kloss, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
But it was Zendaya, in her agent provocateur Louboutins, who perhaps best embodied the essence of Schiaparelli’s daring new collection. The fact that she could both walk and pose with such poise in So Kates that looked almost as tall as her legs were long solidified her status as a risk-taking fashion icon. Zendaya continues to climb to new heights, and with those heels, the sky’s the limit
