Zendaya Blasts Off in Intergalactic Style for ‘Dune: Part Two’ Press Tour
As the world gears up for the highly anticipated release of ‘Dune: Part Two’, Emmy-winning actress Zendaya has kicked off her promotional tour in true sartorial splendor. The fashion icon has returned to the red carpet, serving up a series of out-of-this-world looks that pay homage to the sci-fi epic’s intergalactic themes. Late last month, the actress experimented with a series of avant-garde looks while attending Paris couture week.
For the film’s photocall in Mexico City, Zendaya dazzled in a custom creation by British-Nigerian-Brazilian designer Torishéju Dumi. The two-piece ensemble featured a crop top adorned with a draped back sash, paired with a floor-length skirt boasting a daring thigh-high slit. Both pieces showcased intricate twists and drapes of gray, red, and black fabric, complemented by round, donut-like accents that added texture and depth to the design.
The skirt featured a major leg slit, showing off her black stiletto pumps. Her hair was slicked into a neat low bun with a deep side part, and her makeup consisted of a smokey eye and glossy nude lip. Also promoting the movie in Mexico City were costars Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Josh Brolin.
Longtime stylist Law Roach, who shares a behind-the-scenes look at Zendaya’s fittings on Instagram, completed the look with a pair of classic Christian Louboutin pumps. The sleek black leather shoes boasted a pointed-toe silhouette, sharply angled soles, and thin stiletto heels, adding an extra touch of flair to the ensemble. A gleaming gold Bulgari ear cuff provided a minimal punk touch, drawing emphasis to Torishéju’s sculptural designs and Zendaya’s own striking presence.
This latest red carpet moment follows Zendaya’s initial outings for the ‘Dune: Part Two’ press tour, which have included an all-black leather set by The Attico for a TV appearance and a deep crimson gown at Schiaparelli’s couture show in January. It’s also the latest instance of Roach leaning into a theme for her tour looks. In the past, the duo have embraced colors, concepts, and settings tied to Zendaya’s respective projects, with the 2021 ‘Dune: Part One’ tour turning out viral looks by Alaïa, Balmain, Nensi Dojaka, Rick Owens, and more.
Now that Zendaya has returned to the red carpet, even more noteworthy ‘Dune: Part Two’ looks are on the horizon – with expectations for the fashion to be out of this world. As the actress continues her reign as a style icon, we can’t wait to see what other intergalactic-inspired ensembles she has in store for us.
