Gucci Cruises Into London With Showstopping Runway Extravaganza
The Tate Modern transformed into a dazzling catwalk last night as Gucci unveiled its highly anticipated Cruise 2025 collection, Londra. It marked creative director Sabato De Sarno’s first cruise show for the storied Italian label, paying homage to founder Guccio Gucci’s time in the British capital in the late 1800s.
The evening was a true spectacle, drawing an A-list crowd of fashion royalty. Supermodel Kate Moss commanded attention in a plunging black mini dress, sheer tights, and draping an elegant jacket over her shoulders. The catwalk veteran completed the look with a pair of beautiful black heels. The catwalk queen was joined by her longtime partner Nikolai von Bismarck, days after being spotted hand-in-hand with reggae legend Bob Marley’s son Skip in Turkey.
Luckily, Kate didn’t have to reign the front row alone. Her equally iconic daughter Lila Grace stole the spotlight in a canary yellow blazer-and-shorts set, elongating her modelesque stems with rich burgundy Gucci loafers. At just 21, Lila is rapidly becoming a fashion force, clearly inheriting her mother’s inimitable style.
They were joined by a constellation of stars, from Hollywood icon Demi Moore looking effortlessly chic in a tan leather shirtdress to Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry embodying her trademark punk spirit. Actress Eiza Gonzalez also turned heads, her tasteful ensemble allowing the breathtaking designs to capture the spotlight.
When the show commenced, De Sarno’s visionary direction for Gucci was immediately apparent. The collection celebrated the cosmopolitan spirit of London, fusing the house’s signature Italian elegance with a quintessentially British eccentricity. Tailored suiting gave a nod to Savile Row heritage, while vibrant colors, daring prints, and irreverent silhouettes channeled the city’s rebellious youth culture.
Throughout the marathon of looks, outerwear was a particular highlight, from luxurious trenches to oversized bomber jackets adorned with the iconic Gucci motifs. The accessories were equally swoon-worthy, with handbags ranging from ladylike top-handles to embellished micro-bags, paired with sky-high heels and chunky loafers embodying Italian sophistication.
As the finale looks sauntered down the runway, it was clear De Sarno had delivered a triumph – an intoxicating love letter to London that celebrated Gucci’s storied beginnings while boldly forging a new era. This cruise collection is destined to be a smash from Mayfair to Manhattan.
