Haute Couture Takes Center Stage at the 30th Annual SAG Awards
Last evening, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars graced the red carpet at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The annual ceremony honors outstanding film and television performances of the year, but the pre-show is always a highlight as A-listers debut show-stopping designer gowns and daring fashion statements. This year’s red carpet did not disappoint, with glamorous haute couture and custom creations taking center stage.
Leading the pack was Emma Stone, who sparkled in a custom pearl-embellished, silver and lilac Louis Vuitton gown with lace accents. The ethereal creation boasted a major fashion moment with its metallic sheen and intricate embellishments.
Joey King arrived in a slick black bandeau gown, adding edge with sheer opera gloves and a retro banana clip in her hair. Jennifer Aniston exuded Hollywood glamour in a figure-hugging, sparkling silver Celine number, pairing the gown with strappy metallic heels.
America Ferrera embraced understated chic in a black and white polka-dot Dior gown, sweeping her hair back into a sleek low bun and completing the look with a diamond choker necklace.
Emily Blunt captivated in custom crimson Louis Vuitton, the bold red hue contrasting beautifully against her porcelain complexion.
Anne Hathaway stunned in an electric blue Versace fishtail gown, the body-skimming silhouette showing off her enviable frame. She accessorized with a Bulgari diamond necklace, which added extra wattage.
While most stars opted for overt glamour, Billie Eilish stayed true to her signature aesthetic. The singer layered a knitted vest over a crisp white button-down and donned a black midi skirt with ballet flats.
In contrast, Margot Robbie continued her Barbie promotions in a frothy pink Schiaparelli mini dress with an oversized bustle back bow. With a glowing beauty look and diamond anklet, she was pretty in pink personified.
In a true fashion icon move, Meryl Streep arrived in a figure-hugging blood red Prada gown with Art Deco-inspired crystal embellishments. The sheer fabric and all-over sparkle made for a major style statement.
Storm Reid also took a design risk that paid off beautifully – her floral cut-out gown from Monsoori flattered her frame perfectly and she finished the look with bright red pumps.
Selena Gomez went for romantic drama in a white crystal-covered Versace fishtail gown and diamond earrings.
The menswear trend continued its reign, with Ayo Edebiri donning a checked Luar suit reimagined as an off-the-shoulder gown.
Brie Larson glowed in custom peach Versace separates, color matched to her cocktail ring.
Jessica Chastain was the epitome of elegance in an intricate black lace Armani Privé gown and Bulgari choker.
Elizabeth Debicki took on an ethereal ice queen persona in custom powder blue Armani Privé with allover crystal embellishments.
Scene-stealing styles weren’t limited to the ladies. Danielle Brooks commanded attention in a unique Christian Sirianolook, teaming an eggplant suit with a voluminous tulle overskirt.
Pennywise’s young star Ariana Greenblatt also embraced drama with a rich red velvet corset gown from Vera Wang.
And Maddie Ziegler donned Gothic romance in a cream Alexander McQueen column dress with intricate draping and chain embellishments.
Whether making political statements or simply basking in old Hollywood allure, one thing is certain – the fashion at this year’s SAG Awards did not disappoint. We can’t wait to see what the stars debut next on the red carpet!
