Sydney Sweeney Serves Up Nostalgic Glamour in a Racy LBD

The always-stylish Sydney Sweeney brought her fashion A-game to a recent promotional event for her new horror flick Immaculate. Hitting the red carpet at 92NY in New York City, the Euphoria star channeled quintessential 90s/Y2K glamour in a sultry little black dress that had all the makings of an instant iconic look.

For the occasion, the 26-year-old actress donned a daring deconstructed LBD from trendy It-girl label SHUSHU/TONG’s spring/summer 2024 collection. The avant-garde minidress featured a structured bodice with elegant spaghetti straps, connected to a flirty tiered ruffle skirt via a completely bare midriff panel made of sheer stretch lace. Leaving little to the imagination, the peekaboo dress expertly walked the line between classy and racy.

Sweeney doubled down on the nostalgic aesthetic by styling the night-on-the-town frock with a pair of sheer black tights for a very 90s supermodel vibe. Some patent leather ankle-strap pumps with a svelte stiletto heel elongated her endlessly leggy 5’3″ frame.

The Washington native’s newly-shortened dirty blonde bob, styled in a straight, glossy finish with a deep Gen Z side part, provided a modern contrast to the vintage-inspired ensemble. Her glam makeup look included a subtle winged eye, a punchy pink-mauve lip, and a diffused rosy blush that highlighted her covetable cheekbones.

Dainty diamond rings and classic silver hoops rounded out the overall retro-glam moment. With this red carpet triumph, Sweeney has cemented her status as a true fashion chameleon, effortlessly able to pull off edgy avant-garde looks one day and timeless Hollywood glamour the next.

In conversation with actor Josh Horowitz about her breakout role in the flick, the starlet opened up about how Immaculate began as a spec script she discovered years ago but struggled to get produced. “It never got made, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it,” Sweeney revealed to WWD. “I kept dreaming up how I’d want to film it, the cinematography, everything.”

The tenacious multi-hyphenate ultimately decided to take matters into her own hands, acquiring the rights under her flourishing production company Fifty-Fifty Films. She even hand-picked her former White Lotus co-star Simona Tabasco to join the cast, with the show’s executive producer David Bernard also coming aboard.
