Saintly Chic: Sydney Sweeney Brings Heavenly Style to the City

The fashion flock was stuck in a reverie as Sydney Sweeney graced the New York City streets this week. The Euphoria stunner commanded the concrete catwalk in an utterly divine little black dress from the hallowed house of Versace.

For this devilishly chic city ensemble, the 26-year-old talent opted for one of the Italian atelier’s signature second-skin silhouettes. The long-sleeved knit number hugged every inch of her covetable curves, featuring a racy front zipper detail that allowed a glimpse of Sweeney’s angelic décolletage. She venerated the Vatican-inspired look with sheer black hose and killer black heels – a perfectly posed homage to racy retro bombshells.

The sartorial saint furthered the ecclesiastic aesthetic by styling her newly cropped tresses in a soft off-center part with gently tousled ends. Oversized black sunnies shielded her famous visage from the flock of eager paparazzi as she made her way from her hotel to the set of the Today show.

Sweeney is currently on a heavenly promotional tour for her devilishly thrilling new horror film Immaculate, in which she plays an American nun named Cecilia. During her Today appearance, the Washington native revealed she’s long been enamored of the genre’s deliciously dark delights – one of the reasons she was drawn to this sinfully good project that she also produced.

“It’s a challenging character; it’s an interesting story. I loved the horror genre. It’s exciting,” the rising star divulged of taking on such an intensely physical and psychological role.

Ever the cherub, Sweeney even blessed her beloved grandmothers with cameos as extras playing nuns in Immaculate, flying them to Italy for the filming before treating them to the LA premiere. “They were just so excited,” she gushed.

Of the movie’s shockingly transgressive finale, Sweeney warns it’s sure to stir controversy and impassioned debate. “I like where movies or endings create a discussion, a debate…it’s going to be a wild ride for some people.”

The actress reveals the riveting last scene was captured in one electrifying take with no rehearsals. “I don’t like to plan things out, I like to feel things organically,” Sweeney confessed of her boldly improvisational approach.

If this devilishly delectable taste is any indication, Sweeney is bound to have audiences worshipping at her heavenly altar of style and substance with Immaculate. Bless her.
