Millie Dazzles in Pink and Spills Ring Details on Fallon
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown brought both sparkle and intrigue to The Tonight Show on Thursday. The actress and entrepreneur glowed in a sequined ombré pink minidress from Cult Gaia’s glitzy Carletta collection as she dished on her storybook underwater engagement to Jake Bongiovi.
Brown, 20, swept onto the Fallon stage in the strappy cocktail number, letting the dress’ flowing silhouette and allover pink and peach sequins make the maximum impact. She complemented the look with sheer black tights, pointed black stilettos from Steve Madden, and understated diamond earrings from Rainbow K that allowed the dress to take center stage. Her pulled-back hairstyle kept the focus on her smiling face as she bantered with host Jimmy Fallon.
Millie uses an American accent as Eleven in Stranger Things but spend some time growing up in Bournemouth before moving to Florida. While speaking to Jimmy Fallon, Millie started to talk about her engagement to Jake Bongiovi. The 20-year-old got engaged to the 21-year-old in April 2023 after more than two years together. The pair got engaged while they were on a diving trip. However, Millie explained that the proposal almost didn’t go to plan as they almost lost the ring. She said that due to being so surprised, the ring fell off her finger into the water and Jake had to go and rescue it.
The actress had plenty to smile about as she recounted her engagement to Bongiovi, which took place as the couple were scuba diving on vacation. Unbeknownst to Brown, Bongiovi had hidden the ring he planned to give her underwater, tucked into a seashell. When the couple surfaced, he asked her to marry him and presented her with the ring – which happened to be her own mother’s.
“It was magical,” Brown told Fallon with a grin. “We just looked so disheveled coming out from a dive.”
The sweet proposal story is just the latest indicator of Brown’s increasingly charmed life. Professionally, she stars in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things and has new film Damsel releasing on the streaming platform. She also helms her own beauty and lifestyle brand Florence by Mills, which recently expanded into loungewear.
“That is my everyday wardrobe, which was kind of why it was so easy for me,” she told WWD. “I wear loungewear every single day…I want to wear something that’s still loungewear but is cooler. So, we created an array of wonderful, comfortable stretchy materials and products.”
Between her blossoming career, engagement bliss, and ever-expandable brand, Millie Bobby Brown appears to be sparkling both inside and out.
