Michelle Yeoh Dazzles in Leopard Print at The Brothers Sun Premiere
Malaysian beauty and style icon Michelle Yeoh brought her signature elegance to the red carpet last night for The Brothers Sun premiere, held at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles. The 61-year-old actress stars as the matriarch Eileen “Mama” Sun in the new Netflix action comedy series, which follows a Taipei gangster who must protect his family after his father is mysteriously shot.
Ever the fashion plate, Yeoh captivated in a leopard print maxi coat with structured shoulders that cinched at the waist to accentuate her enviable figure. The statement coat billowed gently as she walked the carpet, offering glimpses of slim black trousers and a simple black top underneath. With dark tresses swept cleanly into a low bun and a touch of makeup to accentuate her stunning bone structure, the effect was at once powerful and nonchalant – entirely befitting of her star status.
Yeoh mingled effortlessly with her Brothers Sun co-stars and Netflix brass alike, including creator Brad Falchuk and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. The Goop founder and lifestyle maven smoldered in a figure-hugging red dress next to Falchuk’s dapper suit-and-sneakers combination. Jenny Yang also brought the heat in an all-black leather and mesh skirt ensemble, posing mirthfully with her on-screen mom.
The camaraderie carried over to playful moments with co-stars Justin Chien and Sam Song Li, who hammed it up as Yeoh pulled them both by their ears. She later shared an embrace with director Paul Feig, resplendent in a red velvet blazer, before posing with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria.
If her commanding presence on the carpet suggests anything, it’s that Yeoh remains at the top of her game. The legendary performer made history last year as the first Asian actress to take home the Best Actress Oscar for her turn in indie smash Everything Everywhere All at Once. She showed no signs of slowing down as she promoted her buzzy new series just one day after introducing her newborn grandson, Maxime, on social media.
“We are so truly blessed,” Yeoh wrote in the post announcing Maxime’s arrival, calling the baby a “very special bundle of joy.”
Yeoh married her longtime partner, former FIA president Jean Todt, 77, in July after a 19-year engagement. The baby’s parents are Todt’s son, Nicolas, and his partner Darina. Heartwarming photos show Yeoh beaming beatifically as she holds and kisses her new grandson.
If last night’s premiere styling is any clue, we eagerly await the next red carpet appearance from the legendary Ms. Yeoh. She continues to WOW with her acting talents, personal milestones, and standout fashion. The Brothers Sun is now streaming on Netflix.
