Last Eve of Indulgence: Evan Ross Katz Hosts Star-Studded ‘Chaos Dinner’

In an ode to the extravagant galas of yore, influencer and writer Evan Ross Katz summoned a coterie of pop culture luminaries for an indulgent ‘Chaos Dinner’ soirée on Wednesday evening. Held at the sprawling Beverly Hills abode of Crystal Kung Minkoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills renown, the intimate yet lavish affair evoked images of Truman Capote’s famed Black and White Ball of 1966.

“The idea germinated from a tête-à-tête with Michael Hoffman of Meta,” Katz revealed. “We envisioned an influencer version of The Last Supper episode from And Just Like That, a final feast amongst friends before one embarks on new adventures.”

And what a feast it was. The fashion parade rivaled the couture-filled galas of yesteryear, with the night’s taste-making guests dazzling in looks specially selected for the occasion. Clad in a fringe-trimmed Hervé Leger number, hostess Minkoff exuded modern day Mrs. Astor vibes. Sarah Michelle Gellar opted for a sultry Christian Siriano, while Jessel Taank sparkled in a Zimmermann frock evocative of a newly-minted Oscar.

Held in partnership with Threads by Instagram, the evening celebrated community and Katz’s keen ability to alchemize pop culture moments into zeitgeist. “We wanted to showcase Evan’s gift for curating people and experiences that capture the cultural imagination,” said Meta’s Hoffman.

In between sips of bubbly and bites of succulent fare, Katz held court alongside Jonathan Anderson of Loewe, actress Zooey Deschanel, actor Jack Falahee, grande dame Kathy Hilton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Zachary Quinto, Jessel Taank, Trixie Mattel and Gottmik of RuPaul fame, Ciara Miller, Madison LeCroy, Froy Guttierez, and Zane Phillips.

As the last morsels were savored, the intimate ensemble bid the palatial manse adieu, off to change for the next extravaganza – or perhaps, to merely await Katz’s next cultural happening held in their honor. In the words of Capote, “A room is still a room, even when full of friends.”
