Indeed, Bieber seems to be taking cues from friends like Kendall Jenner, who has also been gravitating toward quirky, avant garde silhouettes from brands like Loewe and The Attico. Last month, Jenner carried a balloon-shaped bag from the former label and wore surrealist heels from the latter, proving that traditional taste can coexist wonderfully with absurdist details.
Though often associated with a delicate femininity, Bieber’s new footwear says there’s more to her than meets the eye. The exaggerated BV Mary Janes and recent stirrup leggings reference her inner child without sacrificing style. Even her controversial tiny sunglasses nod to whimsy.
