Intergalactic Chic: Florence Pugh’s Dune 2 Press Tour
As the Dune: Part Two press tour kicks into high gear, one look from Florence Pugh has already risen above the rest – an ethereal vision of cosmic couture that’s out of this world. Florence Pugh, 28, wore the skin-tight outfit on the red carpet at the big budget film’s premier in Mexico City.
At the sci-fi sequel’s Mexico City premiere, the British actress floated down the red carpet in a Standing Ground design plucked straight from the London label’s SS24 collection. The floor-sweeping white dress featured a high round neckline, sleeveless bodice and figure-hugging jersey skirt accented by artful asymmetric gathering. She freed the nip, going braless under the subtly sheer fabric. The skirt was accented by asymmetric gathering and ruching before descending into a figure-hugging, floor-sweeping silhouette.
Styled sheer and sans bra, Pugh let the draped fabric speak for itself. She balanced the understated glamour with statement silver jewelry – sharp, shard-like earrings that mirrored the textured spikes of her updo.
It marked the fourth all-white look of Pugh’s spotless Dune promotional tour. She previously coordinated with co-star Zendaya in crisp tailored trousers and a tank top at Comic Con, hit a Jimmy Kimmel appearance in a Galvan London lace midi, then wore a thigh-baring crop top/skirt set from the same designer for the Mexico photocall. Florence made her big screen debut in the 2014 British drama The Falling alongside Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams.
With Zendaya seemingly channeling the spirit of her enigmatic Dune character in gathered skirts and underboob-baring silhouettes, could Pugh be hinting at her own role with her sartorial streak of bridal-esque white? As Princess Irulan – the only daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV – elegance runs in the royal lineage.
The rising star relayed her excitement to work with the “young Hollywood” cast like Chalamet and Zendaya in a recent interview: “I’m now lucky enough to call them all my friends… then have them on my phone when I want to text them—to see that that’s the direction in which our industry is going is such a wonderful feeling.”
After debuting on the big screen in 2014’s The Falling, Pugh has ascended to fame and fashion It-girl status at warp speed. Whether wrapped in crystals at Venice or smoldering in cut-outs at the BAFTAs, her style truly spans the galaxies.
Dune: Part Two opens March 1st, but fans can look forward to Pugh’s next act as a intergalactic sartorial supernova throughout awards season and beyond.
