New York City gleamed a brighter shade of pink last Friday night when actress Blake Lively arrived at a special screening of Barbie in a scene-stealing ensemble from Oscar de la Renta’s latest collection. Known for her bold and glamorous fashion choices, Ms. Lively lived up to her reputation in a mini dress abloom with airy tiers of feathers in a custom candy floss hue.

Always one to commit fully to a fashion concept, the star coordinated elbow-length satin gloves and a bow-shaped clutch with her look. Adding height with banana-hued Malone Souliers pumps, she finished the outfit with statement jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz that would make even Barbie jealous. With softly curled locks and a pink pout to match her dress, Ms. Lively looked every inch the real-life doll.

The event at Lincoln Center was held to celebrate friend and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costar America Ferrera’s role as the progressive character Gloria in the highly anticipated Barbie film. Ms. Lively arrived alongside former castmates Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel for a true sisterhood reunion nearly 20 years after the first Sisterhood movie charmed audiences.

Documenting their girls’ night out on social media, Ms. Tamblyn revealed that the quartet spent the evening together as in days past. “We got ready together, picked out outfits and jewelry and handbags together (aka raided Blake’s closet), ate dinners together, and drove together to celebrate our favorite sister, @americaferrera and her brilliant performance in Barbie,” she shared.

Ms. Lively also posted a loving tribute to her “denim sister” Ms. Ferrera on Instagram, having played close friends linked by a magical pair of jeans in two Sisterhood films. She reflected on their 20-year bond, formed when she was just 16 years old and Ms. Ferrera was a rising star in Hollywood after her breakout role in Real Women Have Curves.

Ms. Lively lauded her friend’s continual growth and numerous creative accomplishments before declaring that no one deserves awards success more for Barbie. She concluded with a reference to the famous Sisterhood quote, “Pants equals love,” writing touchingly, “Love your sisters. Love yourself.”

Between Ms. Lively’s scene-stealing style and her beautiful display of support for Ms. Ferrera, the Barbie screening sparked plenty of joy and girl power. The two friends and occasional costars continue to inspire women to lift each other up and have fun with fashion along the way.
