At Just 26, Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney Has Fully Embraced Her Figure
Euphoria breakout star Sydney Sweeney has undergone a dramatic style evolution since her high school days when oversized sweatshirts were her outfit of choice to conceal her voluptuous figure. Now at 26, the actress reveals she has fully embraced her body, including her buxom bosom.
In an exclusive interview, Sweeney admits that as a teenager she felt self-conscious about her ample assets. “When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were, and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller,” she confessed. However, some sage advice from her mother gave her pause. “My mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.’ And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends.”
This sentiment underscores Sweeney’s evolved perspective on body confidence. “Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people,” she explained. “I went through that process of covering my body up at such a young age, but once I became more confident with myself, [it changed]. I want to show girls that it’s amazing and beautiful and empowering to have the bodies that we have.”
Indeed, Sweeney’s newfound assurance is reflected in her fashion choices. The ingénue now proudly flaunts her curves in an array of form-fitting and daring designs on the red carpet. However, she notes that the media still hyper-fixates on her décolletage. “Especially when it comes to red carpet pics and they’re like, ‘Sydney Sweeney displays bust,’ or ‘Sydney Sweeney wears a scandalous dress,’ I’m like, ‘I’m wearing the exact same dress someone else would be wearing! I just have [breasts].’ And if someone else is wearing it, they’d be like, ‘Oh, so sleek and so well-mannered.’ Just because I have boobs, it doesn’t change,” she points out. “I understand. I get it. It’s your headline. And those won’t change because then they won’t get the clicks.”
Rather than rail against this predictable analysis, Sweeney takes it in stride. “Flaunt what you got. Own it. Love them,” she urges women grappling with body image issues.
This mantra of self-acceptance also applies to how Sweeney leverages her social media presence. Her Instagram feed features an unfiltered mix of glamorous red carpet moments interspersed with casual behind-the-scenes snapshots. She occasionally posts bikini pics but steers clear of making political statements despite having a platform of millions. As she clarifies, “I definitely keep my social media focused towards the work that I’m doing and sprinkle in a little bit of myself in there. I didn’t go to school to learn politics or social [issues], so I don’t think speaking on things that I’m not fully educated on is the correct way to use my social media presence.”
At just 26, Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney has clearly come into her own as a style icon who celebrates the female form. Her journey towards confidence and body positivity serves as inspiration for women everywhere.
