A Royal Night Out in NoHo: Princess Beatrice Channels British Glamour in New York
Princess Beatrice of York brought a touch of British refinement to the streets of New York City this past weekend. Stepping out solo on Saturday night, the royal dazzled in the Big Apple wearing one of Burberry’s most iconic coats – ‘The Kensington.’
Beatrice, 35, looked every inch the English rose as she headed to downtown hotspot BONDST restaurant in the edgy NoHo neighborhood. She wore the waist-cinching cashmere ‘Kensington’ coat layered over a navy satin asymmterical hemmed dress. The coat, a heritage style named after London’s posh Kensington district where the royal family resides, added a slice of home for the princess.
On her feet, Beatrice donned velvet ‘Daphne’ platform heels by Jimmy Choo along with a navy leather clutch bag. Her golden locks were styled in soft curls with a dewy complexion, rosy blush and honey-hued bronzer playing up her radiant glow.
The Burberry coat has long been a staple for British royalty like Kate Middleton. Beatrice’s ‘Kensington’ style featured oversized buttons, belted detailing at the waist and cuffs, and the signature camel check lining. She looked every inch the English sophisticate abroad.
Beatrice was seemingly stepping out solo without husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi or their two-year-old daughter Sienna. However, she appeared to be crossing paths with A-listers like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and newly-divorced Sophie Turner, who were also spotted leaving hip sushi eatery BONDST the same night.
The princess is no stranger to New York, having lived part-time in the city’s fashionable Meatpacking District during her twenties. She moved to the Big Apple in 2015 for a role at software company Afiniti as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy.
According to Princess Beatrice’s mother Sarah Ferguson, her daughter’s first day on the job in New York was quite the culture shock. As told recently on the Duchess’ podcast, Beatrice innocently offered to grab coffee and tea for her new corporate colleagues, not realizing an actual cafe attendant would handle such tasks.
It seems Princess Beatrice has comfortably acclimated to New York life over the years while still retaining her refined British style. Her Burberry ‘Kensington’ coat was the perfect topper for a glamorous night out in the city. She may reside in London now with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi but New York still feels like a second home.
