Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s brood just grew by one adorable bundle of joy. The happy couple welcomed a baby boy earlier this week, PEOPLE has confirmed. And in true Kardashian fashion, the little one’s name carries major significance. Meet Rocky Thirteen Barker.
While certainly unique, the moniker shouldn’t come as a surprise to Kardashian-Barker fans. Back in July, Travis and daughter Alabama gave viewers insight into potential baby names during an episode of Complex Magazine’s GOAT Talk. When asked for the “GOAT baby name,” Travis suggested “Rocky Thirteen.” Laughing, Alabama retorted, “That’s so bad!” Though she seemed skeptical at the time, Kourtney and Travis clearly took a liking to the meaningful name.
So what’s behind it? Travis shed light on the punk rock roots of the handle. “Rocky George played guitar for Suicidal Tendencies, and 13 is just the greatest number of all time,” he explained on the show. The Blink-182 drummer also noted 13 is the title of the “greatest boxing movie of all time.”
The numerology is certainly fitting for the edgy, heavily inked rocker. And honoring a punk legend like George speaks to Barker’s musical influences. As for Kourtney, she likely appreciates the originality and symbolism behind the name. The Poosh founder has always walked to the beat of her own drum, so an unconventional baby name suits her style.
With three children each from previous relationships, Rocky Thirteen marks Kourtney and Travis’ first child together. The pair began dating in early 2021 and got engaged in October of the same year. Their Italian seaside proposal was an intimate, romantic affair. Kourtney previously called it a “dream” come true.
Though they packed on the PDA as an engaged couple, fans speculated a baby could be on the way when Kourtney, 43, and Travis, 46, had a Las Vegas wedding ceremony in April. The impromptu Sin City event turned out to be unofficial, but it may have been practice for parenting again.
Now Rocky has made this blended family of six official. Kourtney’s kids Mason, 12, Penelope, 10, and Reign, 7, whom she shares with ex Scott Disick, and Travis’ trio Landon, 18, Alabama, 17, and Atiana, 23, are surely thrilled.
With Kourtney’s famous siblings and momager Kris Jenner in the mix, little Rocky will never lack for love or excitement. No doubt he’ll grow up learning the meaning behind his moniker.
