Westminster Abbey was aglow on Friday evening as the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton arrived for the third annual Together at Christmas carol concert, which she spearheaded in 2021. Channeling the magic of the holidays, Kate popped in an elegant all-white ensemble that brightened up the historic venue.
The royal style icon layered a sweeping ivory coat from Chris Kerr over crisp white trousers and a matching top from British brand Holland Cooper. Ever the ambassador for British fashion, she finished the monochromatic look with a coordinating white handbag by Strathberry and metallic heels. Van Cleef & Arpels drop earrings in diamonds and mother-of-pearl added a touch of sparkle.
Kate appeared festive and radiant as she entered Westminster Abbey, the location of her 2011 royal wedding to Prince William. Her pristine winter white outfit and dangling earrings were reminiscent of a snow queen presiding over a magical kingdom. It was a far cry from last year’s jewel-toned concert ensemble, though no less regal.
The carol concert has become a new holiday tradition for the Princess, providing an opportunity to showcase both her impeccable style and dedication to early childhood development. This year’s event carried the theme “Shaping Us” in recognition of the vital role the early years play in the trajectory of one’s life.
Ahead of the concert, Kate dazzled in another white look for a special promotional video that aired on ITV1 on Thursday evening. The shimmering white dress underscored her commitment to advocating for young children struggling with adversity.
As Patron of the concert, Kate personally invited guests from across Britain who work with or benefit from early childhood services. The audience was treated to festive musical performances and readings in the spectacular Gothic setting.
Last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales coordinated perfectly with their family in rich burgundy and navy blue ensembles. Princess Charlotte matched her mother in a smart burgundy coat, while Kate donned a floor-length oxblood dress coat with military-style gold buttons. Her accessories were decidedly more affordable, featuring a croc-embossed clutch from Aspinal of London and surprisingly inexpensive bejeweled earrings from Accessorize.
The strategic color scheme sparked speculation that the royal family intended to visually stand together amidst turmoil that year. Nevertheless, Kate’s glamorous style remains consistent regardless of outside circumstances.
As she mingled with guests and participants, greeting them warmly, the Princess’ radiant smile threatened to outshine even her dazzling pearl earrings. Though not accompanied by Prince William this year, Kate has fully embraced her role spearheading an event that clearly combines two of her deepest passions: children and Christmas.
