Jennifer Lawrence Steps Out in Nearly $10,000 Outfit for Casual Park Date with Son
Jennifer Lawrence has never been one to shy away from making a subtly luxurious statement, even for a casual daytime outing. When the actress was recently spotted taking her one-year-old son Cy to the park in Beverly Hills, she embodied relaxed glamour from head to toe in an ensemble valued at close to $10,000.
Lawrence layered a buttery leather blazer from The Row, priced at $5,950, over a classic denim button-down shirt from Celine that retails for $940. She paired these with a slouchy set of black wool trousers from Loewe, which sell for $990. Adding the finishing touch to her look were cream leather slide sandals from The Row that cost $680.
The understated superstar accessorized with a few key pieces to polish off her designer look. She toted a light brown leather bag from The Row that costs $1,145 and shielded her eyes in blue-tinted sunglasses from Loewe priced at $310. All said, Lawrence’s deceptively simple yet undeniably luxe outfit for a casual mother-son date totaled just under $10,000.
While her baby blue Loewe shades and Row bag lent Lawrence’s look a subtle pop of color, her outfit’s neutral palette allowed the textures and cuts of her luxury labels to take center stage. Her Row blazer skimmed her frame perfectly, while the Celine top and Loewe trousers lent the look a relaxed yet polished vibe. Lawrence’s Row sandals grounded the outfit and enabled her to keep up with her active toddler.
Lawrence is certainly no stranger to wearing full luxury looks for everyday activities. Over the last year she has been photographed running errands and meeting up with friends in designer pieces from the likes of Tom Ford, Proenza Schouler, Bottega Veneta and other prestige fashion houses. While she embraces wearing high fashion brands, she also enjoys sporting more wallet-friendly items from time to time. She has been seen donning casual staples like classic Adidas sneakers and carrying handbags from emerging Los Angeles brand Aupen, which offers designs for under $400.
Even style stars suffer wardrobe malfunctions now and then, however, and Lawrence recently had an embarrassing moment at a Saks Fifth Avenue holiday window unveiling event in November. As she stood on stage next to Saks CEO Marc Metrick and Dior CEO Delphine Arnault to present the retailer’s Dior-designed 2023 holiday windows, her belt suddenly popped open audibly. “I’m so sorry, that was so loud, my belt popped off!” Lawrence quickly exclaimed with an awkward laugh.
Lawrence also made unexpected headlines earlier this year when she flouted red carpet rules at the Cannes Film Festival by wearing rhinestone-studded flip flops with her red Dior Haute Couture gown. She later clarified that she opted for casual footwear not to make any sort of bold statement, but because her heels were a size too big. “My shoes were a size too big, and I wore heels going up, but then I forgot to take a picture with my production team…so I knew I would eat s–t if I went down in the shoes that were a size too big,” she candidly explained.
Whether wearing couture and flip flops or a five-figure designer outfit to the park, Lawrence clearly marches to the beat of her own fashion drum. Her unexpected style choices and refreshing honesty make her one of Hollywood’s most relatable sartorial stars. We can’t wait to see what this fashion icon surprises us with next.
