The strapless black and white dress by Balmain had beaded accents and a bustier top with feather sequins
Demi Dazzles in Beaded Balmain at Star-Studded Feud Premiere All eyes were certainly on Demi Moore as the legendary actress swept across the red carpet at the Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday evening. Making a gracefully glamorous entrance for the New York City premiere of Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, in which she stars as tragic socialite Ann Woodward, Ms. Moore captivated the crowds in a striking black and white bustier gown by Balmain. Demi Moore, who at 61, encapsulated the essence of old Hollywood glamour in a striking black and white gown, ingeniously designed to resemble a swan.
Accentuated with shimmering beaded embellishments and feathered sequins, the strapless number featured a figure-hugging bodice topping a gently flared skirt. Ms. Moore’s stylist Brad Goreski shared on Instagram that the showstopping dress was paired with soaring platform heels, providing a boost both in height and allure. Always one to fully commit to a look, Ms. Moore accessorized with dazzling diamond and 18kt white gold dangling statement earrings, stacked bracelets and rings from Cartier’s latest collection. Her beauty look, with softly tousled raven waves, a pink lip and smoldering eyes expertly matched the high voltage glamour of her ensemble.
As Mr. Goreski wrote, when captioning his photo revealing the inspiration behind this red carpet triumph, “When the swan goes to the Black and White Ball…@demimoore stuns in a @balmain gown and @cartier jewels.” Indeed, Ms. Moore emulated a graceful swan amidst the flashbulbs, while bringing her vibrant star power to the extravagantly elegant event. She joined castmates Calista Flockhart and Molly Ringwald, who also exuded glamour in their premiere styles.
While diamonds and Balmain may have sparkled under the MoMA lights, Ms. Moore recently revealed to PEOPLE that her true personal style leans more casual and comfortable. Though she appreciates fashion and cherishes her warm relationships with designers, she shared that at heart she remains that grubby kid who wants to wear baggy clothes.
Even now, her tried-and-true uniform while at her Idaho home is simply overalls, about as far from last night’s beaded bustier as one can get! Still, Ms. Moore also credits inspiration to her daughters, Moore also said that her daughters — Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29 — are her “biggest teachers,” and she looks to them for style tips. Truly a fashion icon for the ages, Ms. Moore proves she can seamlessly embody both black-tie elegance and off-duty ease.
