The Comedy Couturier Returns: John Mulaney’s Magnificent SNL Homecoming
In what can only be described as the most delectable serving of satirical sophistication this season, “Saturday Night Live” is orchestrating a divine reunion with its prodigal son, John Mulaney, for what promises to be an absolutely fabulous sixth hosting engagement. The dapper comedian, known for his impeccably tailored suits and razor-sharp wit (much like our beloved Tom Ford, but make it comedy), is gracing the hallowed halls of Studio 8H once again, bringing his signature blend of haute humor to the show’s milestone 50th season.
Fresh off the heels of Michael Keaton’s hauntingly good hosting stint (with the ethereal Billie Eilish as musical muse), SNL is continuing its parade of powerhouse performers. Speaking of which, my fashion-forward followers, let’s talk about this week’s musical guest – the absolutely mesmerizing Chappell Roan. The rising star, who’s been serving looks and vocals as the opening act for Gen-Z queen Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour, has been making waves with her chart-dominating opus “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.” Trust me, darlings, she’s the next big thing in both sound and style.
But wait, there’s more tea to spill! In a casting coup that has everyone in my circle buzzing, the incomparable Maya Rudolph is stepping back into her designer pumps as Vice President Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, James Austin Johnson continues his pitch-perfect portrayal of former President Donald Trump. It’s political fashion theater at its finest, and I’m absolutely living for it.
