Billie Piper Stuns With Auburn Locks and Silver Mini at International Emmys

Former Doctor Who star Billie Piper arrived at last night’s 51st International Emmy Awards looking positively radiant, debuting a dramatic new ‘do and chic silver mini-dress on the red carpet. The 41-year-old British actress, known for her blonde tresses, showed off a striking auburn choppy bob with a defined side fringe that elegantly framed her face. Paired with baby blue elbow-length gloves and cream heels, Piper’s ensemble was topped off by a eye-catching silver mini clinging to her frame, featuring rows of glamorous white bows down the front for added drama.

All smiles in Hilton Midtown, Piper appeared delighted to be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Awkwafina and glowing pregnant actress Karla Souza, who took home the Best Performance by an Actress statuette for her work in La Caida. Though Piper lost out in her category, she remains a red carpet winner in her daring silver darling dress and newly-dyed crimson locks.

Piper was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress for her reprisal of the lead role in I Hate Suzie Too, the Sky Atlantic black comedy created by Lucy Prebble exploring the questionable choices of former teen pop sensation Suzie Pickles. She competed against Shefali Shah for Delhi Crime, Connie Nielsen in Drommren, and winner Souza. The outstanding supporting cast featured in both seasons of I Hate Suzie also includes Leila Farzad as Naomi and Daniel Ings as Suzie’s manager.

The multifaceted Piper is no stranger to transformative performances herself. Breaking out in the original UK Queer as Folk, she went on to become renowned as the iconic companion Rose Tyler opposite Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant in Russell T. Davis’ revived Doctor Who.

Further demonstrating her range, the actress’ raw portrayal of high-end escort Hannah Baxter in the bold series Secret Diary of a Call Girl cemented her as one of Britain’s most fearless performers. Piper has also spread her wings as a producer and published her memoirs at just 31 years old.

While I Hate Suzie Too earned Piper an International Emmy nomination this year, she was recently nominated for a Best Leading Actress BAFTA award for the role of Ruth in I Am Ruth, losing out to Kate Winslet for her wrenching turn in Channel 4’s I Am Ruth. The rising star shows no signs of slowing down, dazzling last night in a sublime silver number and bold crimson crop. Piper continues to be unapologetically adventurous on-screen and off at 41 years old – this latest ravishing red carpet display proving she remains an unpredictable British fashion and beauty icon through and through.
