Haute Couture Dazzles on the Front Row Once Again
As the fashion elite gathered in Paris for the start of Haute Couture Week, all eyes were on the glamorous front row attendees bringing their own brand of drama and intrigue through their daring fashion choices. Our inner style voyeurs were certainly satiated this season, with celebrity guests serving up a sensory feast for the eyes.
Schiaparelli once again opened the week with a bang. The show kicked off SS24 on Monday and drew in a crowd that included Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya and her Euphoria co–star sidekick Hunter Schafer, whilst Dior hosted Rihanna, Anya Taylor-Joy and Natalie Portman later that day – talk about starting as we mean to go on.
Charlotte Casiraghi
Grace Kelly’s granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi brought understated Riviera glamour to Chanel’s front row. The Monégasque royal looked effortlessly elegant in a checked jacket, light jeans and Mary-Jane heels.
Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman attended Dior’s lyrical ode to the seasons in one of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s most charming looks from the collection – a textured white mini-skirt and cropped waistcoat combo, layered over an archival Christian Dior bustier.
Rihanna
Rihanna wore a black quilted two-piece with a black Lady Dior, white stilettos and a baker boy-style hat that threw us straight back to the early 2000s.
Kelly Rutherford
Quiet luxury perfection. The Gossip Girl icon wore a jacket and A-line skirt two-piece paired with a Lady Dior bag and matching nude court heels.
Zendaya
Zendaya stunned in a fitted black bodysuit with a satin maxi skirt featuring statement draping from the back. She paired the look with fishnet knee-high tights and black court heels.
Jennifer Lopez
It’s giving mob wife couture… JLo stepped out at Schiaparelli wearing a dramatic oversized white ruffled jacket paired with black leggings and gold glasses.
Hunter Schafer
Hunter oozed feminine glamour in a plunge-neck asymmetrical gown with a gold statement choker necklace and Schiaparelli’s signature toe heels.
Sabina Jakubowicz
Model Sabina wore a fitted red maxi gown with flattering ruching and a haute hood. The creative neckline lent old world extravagance to the slinky silhouette.
Bella Thorne
Actress and singer Bella Thorne attended the Schiaparelli show in one of Daniel Roseberry’s more subdued designs from the collection – slim black trousers and a jacket with bold shoulders and metallic button accents. Topping off her contemporary cool aesthetic, Thorne donned a wide-brimmed hat for a touch of Beyoncé-approved glamour.
So did the front rows of Paris live up to last season’s histrionics? Resoundingly yes. As audiences become increasingly desensitized to overexposure, celebrities and designers feel compelled to keep raising the stakes. With headlines dominated by Schiaparelli’s anthropomorphic flourishes and Doja Cat’s show-stopping entrance, we expect this is only the beginning when it comes to the lengths creatives will go to in order to captivate our collective consciousness.
