The actress, who recently announced she is expecting her first child with partner Robert Pattinson, glowed in a crimson red Valentino<\/a> haute couture gown with a low-cut neckline and cutouts at the waist, crafted to accentuate her baby bump.<\/p>\n

Describing the dress as a captivating study of silhouette and texture, Waterhouse said Valentino designers had to entirely restructure the original design to accommodate her changing figure. “I tried it on a couple months ago but it didn\u2019t even – I had to hold it to my body,” she explained. “They had to really take it apart and redesign this dress to make it fit the bump. But it does and I\u2019m really happy it worked.”<\/p>\n

The flowing skirt featured a thigh-high slit with a matching red bow, adding a playful extra layer of movement to balance the figure-skimming top. Delicate floral appliqu\u00e9s created of organza and lace cascaded down the skirt and onto the train for a romantic effect. She completed the look with bow-adorned red satin heels and dazzling diamond drop earrings.<\/p>\n

“I was really excited about this look,” said Waterhouse, who opted for a glowing complexion to complement the intricate details of the dress. “It feels very appropriate for how I feel right now. I loved how they were able to take something quite structured and turn it into something that moves with the body.”<\/p>\n

Indeed, Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has established himself as a champion of empowering women through fashion. Waterhouse joins the ranks of Zendaya, Anne Hathaway<\/a>, Florence Pugh and many more who have turned to the legendary Italian house to craft show-stopping red carpet looks celebrating femininity.<\/p>\n

Waterhouse revealed her pregnancy last November at a music festival in Mexico City, cradling her bump in a hot pink mini dress and sparking speculation she was also debuting an engagement ring. A source later confirmed Waterhouse and Pattinson’s engagement to PEOPLE after five years of dating, adding \u201cThey both want to be married. It\u2019s important for them.”<\/p>\n

The actress has since embraced maternity fashion, wearing fitted silhouettes and miniature dresses to events in London and Los Angeles that place focus on her growing bump. For the Emmys, the Valentino flowing lines and graphic bow seemed to signal Waterhouse’s next fashion chapter as she prepares to welcome her new addition.<\/p>\n
