Kate Beckinsale sparkled Sunday night in a jewel-toned, off-the-shoulder gown by Zuhair Murad as she graced the stage of the Golden Globe Awards. But the glitz and glam of the evening soon gave way to a distressing turn of events, as the actress was later admitted to the hospital in her show-stopping ensemble.<\/p>\n

Alongside\u00a0a series of photos\u00a0from the red carpet and awards show, the “Underworld” and “Pearl Harbor” actor shared images of herself sitting in a hospital room, still dressed in her crystal-encrusted\u00a0Atelier Zuhra gown, chowing down on burgers with several others as they surround a patient’s bed. “Golden globes 2024 start to end,” she captioned the post.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Beckinsale tell Harper’s Bazaar that the actress began feeling unwell shortly after presenting the Best Actress award with Don Cheadle late in the ceremony. Though the reason for her declining health remains undisclosed, Beckinsale soldiered through to the event’s conclusion before ultimately seeking medical care.<\/p>\n

“She powered through like a true professional, but it was clear she wasn’t feeling her best,” shares a backstage insider. “As soon as she was done with her Globes duties, she made a beeline for her car.”<\/p>\n

Beckinsale was accompanied to the hospital by family members, who remained steadfastly by her side as she navigated the dramatic end to an otherwise magical evening. Photos shared on the star’s Instagram reveal Beckinsale perched gracefully in her hospital room in full glam, serving fierce even in adversity.<\/p>\n

“Golden globes 2024 start to end,” she cheekily captioned the images, keeping her trademark wit about her.<\/p>\n

The hospital visit caps off a difficult period for Beckinsale, whose beloved stepfather Roy Battersby has faced serious health struggles in recent weeks. Earlier in December, the actress had turned to social media asking for “every tiny scrap of love and magic” to help Battersby recover, calling his worsening condition “even scarier.”<\/p>\n
