The Barbiecore Comeback: Margot Robbie Revisits Doll-Like Style<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just when we thought we had outgrown the saccharine pink haze of Barbiecore, Margot Robbie has pulled us back in with her doll-like style choices while promoting the Barbie film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last weekend, the star attended a Q&A screening of the movie dressed in pale pink satin pajamas and glittering Manolo Blahnik heels – a look that echoed the aesthetic of the iconic Mattel doll. With delicate feathers adorning the ensemble, Robbie appeared to emulate a flamingo ballerina Barbie sprung to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later at a Director’s Guild of America panel discussion, Robbie discussed the film while wearing a cherry-printed top and high-waisted jeans from Bottega Veneta\u2019s Pre-Fall 2023 collection. The fruity motif was a nod to the Cherry Pie Picnic Barbie from 2015, proving that Robbie still has some plastic fantastic looks up her perfectly-tailored sleeves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After being steeped in all things Barbie pink for months on end, one can hardly fault Robbie for seeking a departure from the doll\u2019s signature look. Indeed, the star has been embracing deeper, more grounded tones as of late, wearing sleek brown numbers from Schiaparelli and Fendi Couture to various events. Standing alongside a red-hot Dua Lipa<\/a> in custom Versace at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Robbie\u2019s neutral moment felt like a brief escape from the fanfare of Barbie – but a temporary one at that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like brands from Burberry to Valentino<\/a> have adopted signature shades, celebrities too appear to be defining themselves through chromatic choices. For Robbie, we can expect to keep seeing sprinklings of doll-like pink in the coming weeks as Barbie fever shows no signs of dying down. While brown and beige hues may offer the occasional break from pink overload, when it comes to the star of the plastic posse, resistance to Barbiecore seems futile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
