In what could have been a far more devastating moment, the tranquil Hamptons were stirred over the weekend when actor Alec Baldwin and his brother, Stephen Baldwin, were involved in a car accident. The incident, which took place in the rain-soaked streets of East Hampton, unfolded as Alec was driving his wife Hilaria Baldwin\u2019s vehicle\u2014now notably, a casualty of the crash.<\/p>\n

The Baldwin brothers were reportedly navigating through the picturesque lanes when a garbage truck, described by Alec as “the size of a whale,” abruptly cut them off. In a bid to avoid a potentially more catastrophic collision, Alec swerved and struck a tree\u2014an act of instinct that spared both brothers, but left Hilaria\u2019s car severely damaged.<\/p>\n

Images captured by bystanders and obtained by TMZ show the Baldwin brothers conversing with East Hampton police amid the rainfall\u2014Alec even spotted calmly on the phone, presumably updating family. The car, undeniably battered, sat beneath a tree that bore the brunt of the impact.<\/p>\n
