“Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga\u2019s Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux premiered at Venice Film Festival”<\/p>\n

The red carpet was graced by the incomparable Joaquin Phoenix, the enigmatic Lady Gaga<\/a>, and the visionary Todd Phillips, each a maestro in their own right. As the sequel to 2019’s Oscar-winning “Joker,” this cinematic confection promises a delectable blend of crime drama and jukebox musical, with Gaga stepping into the deliciously deranged shoes of Harley Quinn.<\/p>\n

Darlings, the critics are as divided as a reversible Burberry trench! With a current Rotten Tomatoes rating of 60% “fresh,” this film is splitting opinions faster than a fashion week after-party. John Nugent of Empire Magazine gushes, calling it “as sweet and beguiling a musical romance as it’s possible to have between two murderous psychopaths.” Haute praise indeed!<\/p>\n

David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter is equally enamored, particularly with our beloved Gaga. He declares her “a compelling live-wire presence,” likening her performance to a perfectly tailored Valentino<\/a> gown \u2013 fitting in all the right places while still allowing room for breathtaking surprises.<\/p>\n

But not all are singing from the same style sheet, my loves. Some critics have found the film as flat as last season’s platforms. Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair laments it as “startlingly dull,” while the BBC’s Nicholas Barber sniffs that it’s “either daring or irritatingly smug.” Oh, the drama!<\/p>\n
