Florence Pugh Towers in 6-Inch Platforms at the 2024 BAFTAs<\/p>\n

As Florence Pugh graced the red carpet at the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday evening, all eyes were drawn to her gravity-defying footwear. The 28-year-old actress, nominated for her supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, arrived in a full bespoke Harris Reed ensemble, complete with a metallic silver corset gown and staggering reaching at least 6 inches in height.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always loved experimenting with fashion and pushing boundaries,” remarked Pugh on the red carpet. “Tonight I wanted something bold and unexpected.”<\/p>\n

The sandals in question featured a generous rounded platform sole not unlike the styles found in Harris Reed’s buzzworthy thigh-high boot collections. Yet Pugh managed to balance expertly atop the boosted silhouette. “I don’t find these too difficult to walk in if I’m honest,” she noted. “The height gives me a boost of confidence.”<\/p>\n

Pugh hit the red carpet in a floor-sweeping black velvet dress made from dead stock material (the BAFTAs were the first award show to introduce a sustainable dress code in 2020), which she paired with a shimmery metallic corset that featured sculptural high-cut sides and an extreme plunging neckline. Florence accessorized with a long diamond necklace by Boucheron, as well as a dramatic black velvet shawl that was worn draped across her forearms.<\/p>\n

Black platform heels, diamond stud earrings, and her signature cartilage piercings provided the finishing touches to Florence’s look, while her glam consisted of shimmery smoky eye makeup, pink lipstick, and her blonde mullet parted to the side and slicked back.<\/p>\n

“I find when I put on a pair of big heels, it changes my posture and presence,” explained Pugh. “I walk taller – I quite like feeling Amazonian.”<\/p>\n

While daunting to some, Pugh moves with ease at such heights. She even selects heels for her off-duty style, recently stepping out in Paris Fashion Week in thigh-high boots perched atop a sizeable platform base.<\/p>\n

While Pugh wasn’t nominated for any awards at tonight’s ceremony, the biographical thriller\u00a0Oppenheimer<\/em>, which saw her portray psychiatrist Jean Tatlock in the film, is up for 13 honors \u2014 including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Cinematography, just to name a few.<\/p>\n
