As your resident fashionista with a penchant for killer heels, I simply must dish on the fabulous (and family-friendly) footwear I spotted at the 91st Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade over the weekend. Cease your scrolling, my dears, because this year’s festive affair was positively dripping in decorum, delight, and dazzling heels that have my heart all aflutter.
Leading the polished pack was none other than that enduring style icon and gal-about-town Denise Richards. Having graced both the big and small screens for decades now in everything from flirty frocks to high-octane glam, Ms. Richards has certainly mastered the art of looking festively fashionable. Joining Hollywood’s beloved Christmas tradition to support the Marine Toys for Tots campaign alongside her husband Aaron Phypers, Denise was the epitome of poised presence in an understated black jumpsuit, dramatic diamond earrings, and my personal favorite part of her parade-perfect ensemble: a pair of striking stiletto boots in rich wine suede. With a sky-high heel and sharply pointed toe, these leather lovelies lent Denise’s look a dash of high-voltage va-va-voom that harkened back to her Wild Things days while still keeping things sleek.
Yet the real show-stoppers of Denise’s parade style were the sweet mother-daughter moments she shared with her beloved mini-me, daughter Eloise. At only 12 years old, Miss Eloise is already proving she has what it takes to be a future fashion plate in her own right. Clad in a textured cream sweater with darling pearl button accents, Eloise embodied prim polish from head to toe. And those shoes! A vision in velvet, Eloise completed her holiday look with burgundy crushed velvet flats boasting a pert bow detail that perfectly complemented her mother’s suede over-the-knee boots. From the very first glimpse of these two strolling the parade route hand in hand, it was clear they share that innate Richards sense of style.
As longtime fans well know, behind Denise and Eloise’s magnetic mother-daughter bond lies a truly touching story of devotion, care, and celebration of each child’s unique and wondrous journey. Diagnosed in early childhood with a rare chromosomal deletion, Miss Eloise continues to inspire with her vivacious verve for life and joyful spirit (not to mention her nascent fashion sense!). In between waving to adoring fans from their perch on the Marine Toys for Tots parade float, Denise showered her smiling daughter with warmth and affection. And Eloise’s glittering grin said it all, darlings.
