Red Carpet Rebellion: SAG Awards’ Shocking Nomination List
In a season that’s already served us more plot twists than a Hitchcock film, the SAG Awards have just dropped their nominations list with all the subtlety of last season’s platforms – which is to say, none at all. The industry’s most anticipated ensemble cast category sent shockwaves through Hollywood by ghosting several expected frontrunners including “The Brutalist,” “Sing Sing,” and “Nickel Boys” – a move that’s left the fashion-forward crowd at my favorite Chateau Marmont lunch spot absolutely gobsmacked.
And darlings, the individual snubs? Even more devastating than wearing last season’s Prada. We’re talking about fashion deity Selena Gomez for “Emilia Pérez” (her red carpet looks alone deserved a nod!), the eternally chic Margaret Qualley, and the impossibly elegant Tilda Swinton. Even Hollywood royalty Denzel Washington didn’t make the cut for “Gladiator II.”
The ceremony, set to stream on Netflix on February 23rd with the fabulous Kristen Bell hosting, promises to be a night of redemption – or at least killer fashion moments. And let’s not forget the divine Jane Fonda receiving her Life Achievement Award. Now that’s what I call timeless style!
